Obituary of Everette Lester Burks

Everette L. Burks, age 97 of Pikeville, died Sunday, August 22, 2010. He was a member of the Seventh day Adventist Church. Everette was a local contractor and former owner of Pikeville Auto Parts Store and the owner of the Oliver Tractor Dealership. Preceding him in death was his wife LaVera Hembree Burks.
Survivors include daughter Annette (Richard) Poulton, Lebanon; Gary (Shirley) Burks and Larry (Patty) Burks, Pikeville; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister Mary Burks Washburn, Tulsa, Ok; and several members of the Hembree family.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 pm CDT in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Wendt, Pastor Jimmy Williams, and Pastor Harold Hembree officiating. Burial will follow in Brushy Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Hwy 127 South, Pikeville, TN. Visitation Monday 6-9 pm CDT. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Pikeville SDA Church School.
