Ronald "Buck" Miller, age 88 of Pikeville, died Sunday, July 25, 2010. Born in Jordan Valley, Oregon and raised in Pawnee County, Oklahoma, he served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific. After returning, he worked in construction and built several projects including dams around the US and in Haiti. He moved to the Chattanooga area in 1957 and owned and operated Town Hall Shell in East Ridge and Brainerd Village Exxon until he retired to Bledsoe County in 1978. He lived at Lee Station then moved to Pikeville in 1990. He was a member of Emmanuel Fellowship Baptist Church in Pikeville.
Survivors include son Bruce (Gale) Miller, Hendersonville, NC; daughter Cyndy (Bill) Evitt, Ooltewah; stepson Mike Evatt and stepdaughter Sherry Smyth, Chattanooga; grandchildren, Brent Evitt, Washington, DC; Lisa Clapp, Knoxville; Larry Miller, Gainesville, Ga; and Emily Evitt, Knoxville; great-grandchildren Adam, Grace, Eli, Abigail, Alexander, Hannah, Anabel, Anderson and Asher as well as several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm CDT in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Pete Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Pikeville Cemetery.
