Obituary of Robert Delmore Brown

Robert "Delmore" Brown, age 73, of Hixson, TN, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2010. He was born in Sequatchie County, TN on March 22, 1937. He was a member of the North Chattanooga Church of God. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, a Dupont retiree (32years), a member of the Sequatchie County Historical Association, Chattanooga Area, retired Duponters and a life time member of the Guitar Players Association of Chattanooga He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Pete Brown; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. S.L. Brown; parents, Ray & Edna Brown; brother, Benton Brown. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Brown, son, Merle Brown; grandchildren, Grayson and Walker Brown all of Chattanooga; one sister, Shirley Stuart and her husband, David Stuart, Soddy Daisy two brothers, Ed Brown and his wife Martha, Dunlap, Duane Brown and his wife Martha, Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews Funeral service will be held Friday at 12:00 a.m. EDT in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Milligan, Rev. Clayton Privett and Minister Johnnie Statom. Burial will be in the Rankin Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday at Lanes Funeral Home, Asland Terrace from 2:00-9:00 p.m. EDT and Thursday from 3:00-10:00 p.m. EDT at Putnam-Standefer-Reed Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Dan Card, Gene Edwards, Wendell Merrell, Mike Brown, Mark Brown, Steven Brown and Caleb Stuart; honorary pallbearers, Randy Smedley, Don Randall, Don McAlister and Jim Freeman.
