Powell 'C P' Simmons, age 86 of Pikeville, died Thursday, September 1, 2011. He was of the Baptist Faith. C P was preceded in death by two sisters Dovie Humble and Bernice Britt.
Survivors include wife of sixty-three years, Hazel Simmons; three daughters Joyce (Stanley) Crawford, Pikeville; Jane (Newton) Snow, Crossville; Janice (Rick) Keener, Whitwell; three sons Roy (Pam) Simmons, Sammy Ray (Laura) Simmons, James Powell (Lea) Simmons all of Pikeville; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Service will be Saturday at 1:00pm CDT in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Darvin Oakes officiating. Burial will follow in Simmons Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com.
