Samuel Snyder passed away at age 78 on July 26, 2011. He drove a Sequatchie County school bus for twenty-eight years and filled in for fifteen more years. Samuel was preceded in death by two children Judy and Raymond Snyder; parents George and Lizzie Snyder; three brothers Marshell, Melvin, and Riley Snyder; four sisters Nora Snyder, Thelma Stewart, Julie Marie Crowe, and Eve Mikel.
He is survived by his and Joyce Snyder's children Jerry (Carol) Snyder, Soddy Daisy; David Snyder, Sale Creek; Dean (Foster) Stewart, Dunlap; Sue West Snyder, Dayton; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two brothers Edward (Girtie Mae) Snyder, Graysville; and Jasper (Helen) Snyder, Soddy Daisy; one sister Norma Jean Swanger, Dunlap; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00pm CDT at Lewis Chapel Church of God with Rev. Lenard Sutherland officiating. Burial will be in Taft Harvey Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 3-9pm and Thursday 9am-noon CDT at the funeral home. The body will lie-in-state at the church Thursday from1-2 pm CDT.
