Cilvester Clyde Pendergrass, age 87 of Pikeville, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at his home surrounded by family and his very special care giver. Cilvester was a truck driver and farmer for many years and was a U S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by wife of sixty-five years, Elizabeth; infant daughter Marcia Gail; parents John Herman and Elizabeth Pearl; step-mother Betty; sisters Lenore Riggs, Lois Hale Vinson, Lorene Cappel, Claudine Pendergrass, Flossie Dyer, and Ellen DeBord; brother Claude Pendergrass; grandson Duane Boynton.
Survivors include daughters Jean Pendergrass, Ohio; Glenda (Bobby) Partin, Pikeville; son Wayne (Lana) Pendergrass, Crossville; sisters Shirley (Jim) Elam, Ohio; Frances (David) Clemons, Hendersonville; Jewel (Randy) Boyce, Lebanon; brothers Blake (Glenda) Pendergrass, Ohio; Everett (Judy) Pendergrass, Knoxville; Jack (Jean) Pendergrass, Pikeville; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, brother and sisters-in-law and friends.
Service will be Sunday at 2:00 pm CDT in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kenneth Norris officiating. Burial will follow in Will Smith Cemetery.
